Yamaha WaveRunners racers hit the jackpot at Round 3 of the Pro Watercross Tour held in Sparks, NV, sweeping all four pro runabout classes. In all Yamaha FZR and VXR riders won seven of 12 podium finishes.
In Pro Stock action, Yamaha FZR rider Troy Snyder finished the weekend 1-1-1, dominating the field with his best performance of the 2014 pro tour. Teammate Aero Aswar finished second overall.
Pro Limited racing was equally exciting for Team Yamaha and the FZR with Aqsa Aswar (younger brother of Aero Aswar) sweeping the class 1-1-1; followed by fellow Yamaha FZR rider Dennis Mack who finished 2-2-2.
Pro Open racing action was especially satisfying for FZR rider Aero Aswar who finished 1-1-2. Aero is still recovering from a serious knee injury sustained in the rough surf at round 1.
Rounding out the weekend sweep was Yamaha VXR rider and defending national Normally Aspirated champ Rob Greenwald. Greenwald is undefeated in 2014 winning all three rounds of the early season.
“The domination on the closed course that we expected this year with the new SVHO engine is clearly coming to fruition early on in the tour,” said Yamaha race director Scott Watkins. “Across every Pro class, our racers remain untouchable, proving the world class performance of our new models powered with the Yamaha SVHO engine, along with the unstoppable VXR in the normally aspirated circuit.”
Congratulation to Yamaha partners Dean’s Team and Riva Racing for a superb weekend of WaveRunner racing. Round 4 of the Pro Watercross is July 19-20 at Colonial Beach, VA.
