In its debut on the closed course, the 2014 FZR WaveRunner powered by the new SVHO engine, completely dominated the major Pro Runabout Classes on the first stop of the 2014 UWP-IJSBA National Tour which concluded in Pensacola this past weekend.
In all, Yamaha won three out of the four pro classes, and grabbed nine of the twelve podium spots. Yamaha FZR riders Aero Aswar and Brian Baldwin finished 1-2 in the Pro Runabout Stock class and 1-3 in Pro Runabout Open action. Yamaha VXR rider Rob Greenwald led a sweep of the Runabout N/A class.
“Our goal with the new FZR WaveRunner was to deliver race ready performance right out of the box, and as the results from this weekend indicate, we accomplished just that,” said Scott Watkins, Yamaha’s product manager. “With the new SVHO engine, combined with a larger pump and all new performance components, this package provides the absolute most performance and dialed in handling we could get.”
Racing action resumes this weekend in Panama City Beach, FL for round two of the UWP-IJSBA National Tour.
